Everything great starts from small things, changing habits can create a multiplying effect on work efficiency.
Neeramitra Reddy, a renowned American speaker, owner of the Manximize By Neeramitra Reddy page, specializing in personal development secrets and health training, with tens of thousands of followers, shared three of his own habits that have the most positive and effective impact.
BEFORE BED, LIST THREE THINGS TO DO THE NEXT DAY
Every night before going to bed, Neeramitra Reddy always decides on three things to do no matter what the next day.
He said he used to plan with 5 or 7 tasks but then only completed one or two tasks, the rest either skipped or completed hastily.
In fact, clustering is a common issue, while one or two tasks are too few targets for a day. So for Neeramitra Reddy, three is an appropriate number. For others it may be two or four but according to him, starting with three and then adjusting gradually is the way to go.
Goals set before going to bed, the subconscious will start working. Everyone wakes up feeling clearly oriented. American renowned writer Napoleon Hill once said: "You cannot entirely control your subconscious, but you can give it any plan, desire, or goal of yours."
Ideally, there should be no fixed schedule for these three tasks, you just need to complete them according to your own ideas. Try to imagine how you will carry out those tasks, what sequence, what difficulties may arise, and the final outcome of those tasks. Just like that, everything during the day will go much smoother and more proactively.
MAKE YOUR BED EVERY MORNING
The first time, Neeramitra Reddy learned about this habit in a speech by a US Navy admiral. The admiral's sharing inspired him and he decided to try it. Since then, Neeramitra has always maintained this habit without skipping a day. Making the bed every morning also brings many surprising benefits.
First, it gives the person a sense of accomplishment, motivating for an efficient day's work ahead, encouraging everyone to accomplish more. In Neeramitra's case, making the bed in the morning triggered a series of useful activities afterwards.
"Many times I woke up feeling indifferent, but after making the bed, I felt energetic and alive," Neeramitra said.
The second effect is that every time entering the room, the sight of a neatly made bed improves his mood and motivation. Finally, at the end of an efficient workday, a comfortable bed helps him have a good night's sleep and maximum satisfaction. "It's one of the most important things you can do to work more efficiently," the speaker said.
According to psychologist Amy Cuddy at Harvard University (USA), if you want to start your morning right, this is the first thing you should do when you wake up.
ALLOW YOURSELF TO SPEND AT LEAST ONE MINUTE DOING ONE THING EACH DAY
Committing to spend at least one minute on a specific task each day can bring miraculous results. It could be writing what you want or any other task you desire.
The principle here is that small tasks force you to do something every day and "consistency" is always the most important factor leading to success. What really makes this habit worth trying is: Usually, you won't stop after one minute but will continue working.
In fact, breaking inertia is always the hardest part. But once you start, everything will snowball, accumulating into a great achievement. Moreover, when we don't want to do something, but thanks to this habit we can excel. If after a minute you really don't want to continue, you can still stop.
So, let yourself do at least one thing for a minute every day, it will create a magical effect to help you keep working. Even if you can't continue, it's okay, at least you did that work for a minute.
These habits, though very small, will create amazing long-term results. Planning and completing three tasks in a day may not seem like much, but after a month, you will have completed 90 tasks, and a year is 1,095 tasks.
"Remember that habits also have a double impact and they will create results exponentially when you repeat them," Neeramitra Reddy said.
